Our Mission
Mō Mātou
Our quest is to support your learning and increase your knowledge about quantum science and technology.
You could attend a talk in a pub or library, watch an explaining video on-line, have a go at a hands-on science demonstration at a festival, read a short story or see a film or performance inspired by quantum “weirdness”, hear a lecture by one of Aotearoa’s best and brightest, and more! Whether you are a student or city councillor, venture capitalist or physiotherapist, teacher or senior citizen, or something else entirely, we want to give you an opportunity to engage with quantum science and technology in the way that works best for you.
The IYQST NZ team is a committee of people from across the motu working in quantum science and technology. The committee is led by members of Te Whai Ao – Dodd-Walls Centre, along with representatives from the Quantum Technologies Aotearoa programme, the New Zealand Institute of Physics, the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, the Royal Society Te Apārangi, IBM, the New Zealand Commission of UNESCO, and Tūhura Otago Museum.
Many more organisations including schools, universities and businesses will host events that celebrate IYQST 2025.
